Seniors gather for lunchtime meeting

    The Star City Seniors met on Jan 24 at the VFW with 24 members and 1 guest of Delores Brown, Nancy Fulton from Mars Hill. The table blessing was said by Delores Brown, after which we all enjoyed a nice potluck luncheon.     Dot McNulty had the seniors vote on the officers for 2008. Donna Devoe was chosen for President for 2008, and accepted by a showing of hands. Then the vice president, Frank Allen, was voted in and accepted by a showing of hands.
    The treasurer, Jean Easler, was voted back and accepted by a showing of hands.
    The secretary, Delores Brown, was voted back in by a showing of hands until someone else would like to do it. President Donna Devoe then brought the meeting to order with the Lord’s Prayer, the salute and one verse of “America”.
    Our sick members are: Marie Lamb, Kempton McManus, Myra Cray and Lila Day. Let’s remember them all in our prayers. The meeting was adjourned.
