To the editor:
In the last past 20 years have you noticed we have been losing our wild rabbits here in Aroostook County? Twenty years ago they used to use wild rabbits for food, this is going to become a very serious problem as time goes on. As most hunters know our partridges have been on the decline in the last two years. Both of these animals survive on our farmlands. They eat the grass close to the head lands.
This problem is poor management of spray materials. This problem is destroying our wildlife and no one seems to care! It’s one thing to destroy our lakes and streams but to destroy our animals that we get enjoyment out of well that’s just a shame.
Each and every year these farmers get at least a $250,000 of tax-free money. They ought to be made to clean up their property. How munch longer are the hunters and biologist going to let this continue?
