FORT KENT – Katie Plourde and Caleb Chapman led the boys’ and girls’ Caribou Middle School cross country teams to victory over New Sweden and Madawaska on Feb. 26 on the 10th Mountain ski trails. Plourde crossed almost a full minute in front of the next competitor in 11:23, while Chapman had a closer victory at 11:10 to the second-place time of 11:38.

Seventy-seven skiers raced in the 3 km event. New Sweden took second and Madawaska third in the girls’ race, while the Madawaska boys’ came in second and New Sweden third.
