High school indoor soccer tournament
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will host its annual indoor soccer tournament for high school students Saturday, Mar. 15 at the Northern Maine Community College. The tournament has a 5-on-5 format and teams are limited to 10 players. Deadline for registration is Friday, Mar. 7 at noon. Entry fee is $70 per team. Exercise ball class
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be running an exercise ball class for adults starting Wednesday, Mar. 5. The program will run each Wednesday night from 6 to 7 p.m. from Mar. 5 to Apr. 23. The cost of the program is $25, and pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own exercise balls.
Archery
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is offering an archery program for youth and adults on Sundays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This is an informal, drop-in program with a $6 fee for each night of shooting.
Middle school only night
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is offering open gym hours on Friday evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for middle school students starting this Friday.
Students in grades six to eight are invited to come to the recreation center to participate in open gym and various activities.
“Little All-Stars” sports class
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks is once again offering its sports class for boys and girls ages four and five, Participants will be introduced to five different sports, including basketball, soccer, floor hockey, football and t-ball. Through games and instruction, they will learn the basic fundamentals of each sport.
The class is held Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 at the recreation center. The program runs from Mar. 7 to Apr. 4.
Youth open gym
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department has a youth open gym each Saturday and Sunday. Hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. for elementary youth and from 3 to 5 p.m. for middle and high school students.
Lifeguard class
The Presque Isle Indoor Pool will be offering an American Red Cross lifeguard class Mar. 16, 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the indoor pool. You must be 15 years old or older and be able to swim 300 yards (six laps) of the pool doing the breaststroke and front crawl. The class will certify you as a lifeguard, community first aid and professional CPR. Pre-paid registration is required.

The Presque Isle Indoor Pool will begin registration on Monday, Mar. 10 for the March 25 to June 1 session.
Parent-toddler and infant classes: Tuesdays from 9 to 9:25 a.m. or 6 to 6:25 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 9:25 a.m.
Three-year-old classes: Mondays from 6 to 6:25 p.m., Wednesdays from 3 to 3:25 p.m., Thursdays 9 to 9:25 a.m., Fridays from 10 to 10:25 a.m., or Saturdays from 9:30 to 9:55 a.m.
Four- and five-year-old non-swimming classes: Mondays 6:30 to 6:55 a.m.; Tuesdays 9 to 9:25 a.m., 3 to 3:25 p.m. or 6:30 to 6:55 p.m.; Wednesdays 9 to 9:25 a.m.; Thursdays 10:30 to 10:55 a.m. or 3:30 to 3:55 p.m.; Fridays 9 to 9:25 a.m. and 9:30 to 9:55 a.m.; and Saturdays 9 to 9:25 a.m. or 9:30 to 9:55 a.m.
Swimming three to five for those able to swim 10 yards: Mondays 7 to 7:25 p.m., Tuesdays 10:30 to 10:55 a.m. or 3:30 to 3:55 p.m., Wednesdays 9:30 to 9:55 a.m., Thursdays 9 to 9:25 a.m., Fridays 10:30 to 10:55 a.m. and Saturdays 10:30 to 10:55 a.m.
Advanced three to five for those able to swim 15 yards without assistance: Mondays 9 to 9:50 a.m. or 1 to 1:50 p.m.
Learn to swim I: Non-swimming. Must be six-years-old or older. Tuesdays 4 to 4:50 p.m., Wednesdays 6 to 6:50 p.m., Thursdays 4 to 4:50 p.m. or 6 to 6:50 p.m. and Saturdays 11 to 11:50 a.m.
Learn to swim II and III: Tuesdays 3 to 3:50 p.m. or 6 to 6:50 p.m., Wednesdays 1 to 1:50 p.m., Thursdays 4 to 4:50 p.m. and Saturdays 10 to 10:50 a.m.
Level IV to VI: Tuesdays 4 to 4:50 p.m., Wednesdays 1 to 1:50 p.m. or 6 to 6:50 p.m., Thursdays 4 to 4:50 p.m. and Saturdays 11 to 11:50 a.m.
Guard start class (learn lifeguard skills, CPR and first aid skills for 11- to 14-year-olds): Fridays 3:30 to 4:20 p.m.
Adult beginner and adult stroke improvement class: Wednesdays 7 to 7:50 p.m.
Water exercise classes: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10 to 10:50 a.m. or Mondays and Wednesdays 6 to 6:50 p.m.
Water jogging classes: Mondays 4 to 4:50 p.m. or 6 to 6:50 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 to 4:50 a.m. and Saturdays 8 to 8:50 a.m.
Youth kayaking class: Wednesdays 3 to 3:50 p.m.
Adult kayaking roll session: Wednesdays 7 to 7:50 p.m.
