    Local student named to Bates College dean’s list
    LEWISTON – Alicia A. Gilman of Ashland was named to the dean’s list at Bates College as a result of her scholastic standing during the first semester of the 2007-08 academic year.     To qualify for the dean’s list at Bates, a student must maintain a better than B+ average for the semester, for a minimum quality point ratio of 3.67.
    Gilman, a sophomore women and gender studies major, is a 2006 graduate of Ashland Community High School. She is the daughter of Michael and Marjorie Gilman
