PRESQUE ISLE – The Central Aroostook Mentoring Program will hold its annual Bowl-A-Thon at Northern Lanes in Presque Isle Saturday, March 15 from noon-4 p.m. This exciting and fun event provides one quarter of the operating budget for a program that provides local children seven to 18 years of age with a safe mentor to guide them using the mentor’s experience and knowledge. Each team member obtains pledges from friends, neighbors, relatives, and other supporters of mentoring. Trophies are awarded for the highest amount of pledge money brought in per bowler. The goal for funds raised at this year’s Bowl-A-Thon is at least $10,000, which would reach last year’s net from this great event.
The B.P.O. Elks Lodge 1954 provides free use of the lanes for this event to support mentoring. Many local businesses donate door prizes, $50-$99, or are lane supporters donating $100 or more. To date, more teams are needed to fill the bowling alley for this event. Please call 764-4005 if you would like to participate.
