ERV training

    The Aroostook County Branch of the American Red Cross-Pine Tree Chapter is offering a two-part training for individuals interested in becoming Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) drivers.     Part One will be held on Saturday, March 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Caribou VFW on U.S. Route 1.  
    Part Two will be held on Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 7-9 a.m. at the Caribou VFW. Classroom training is on Saturday. Driving tests are on Sunday, April 20.
    Interested individuals must be 21 years of age and be able to pass a criminal background check. In addition, participants must have a valid Class C drivers license, a clean driving record, a current certification in CPR and First Aid and will need to take an on-line Defensive Driving Course for acquiring full ERV certification.
    The  courses are open to anyone interested in becoming a Red Cross volunteer; however, seating is limited to six participants for Part Two of the training.
