Hospitalized
Freda Dionne was taken to The Aroostook Medical Center on Saturday, March 29, suffering with a severe headache and elevated blood pressure. She remained hospitalized for several days undergoing observation and tests.
Visits
Linda Hansen, of Salsbury, Mass., drove home Tuesday to spend some time helping her father, Rollie Dionne, and visiting with her mother, Freda, at The Aroostook Medical Center.
Congratulations
Congratulations goes out to Julie and Matthew Nadeau, on the birth of their baby girl on March 27. Little Callie Marie Nadeau was born at The Aroostook Medical Center weighing in at 7 pounds and 2 1/2 ounces.  She has a proud bigger brother at home who gave her her name and waited anxiously for her arrival. The maternal grandparents are Cheryl and Vaughn Carter, of Easton, and the paternal grandparents are, Ronald and Judy Nadeau, of St. Cloud, Fla., and Sally and Marvin Witham, of Uxbridge, Mass. She also has maternal great grandparents, Clair and Eldora Carter, of Easton.
We also congratulate Julie and Josh King, of Presque Isle, whose baby boy was born in the early morning hours of March 28. On arrival at The Aroostook Medical Center, the little one weighed in at 8 pounds, 21 inches long, and is named Gabriel Leon. The maternal grandparents are Rhonda and Delmer Ouellette, of Fort Kent, and the paternal grandparents are Danny and Leona King, of Easton. He also has two great grandmothers here in Easton, Helen King and Catherine Ladner, and maternal great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Russell, of Smyrna.
We also want to congratulate those students from town who are attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle who made the dean’s list for this fall. The honors list is designated by a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and the Easton students making it were: Tyler Bradley, Brandon Carlow, Janelle Desmond, Stephen Hopkins, Tessa Ireland and Korrin Patterson. This goes to show that Easton High School graduates a high percentage of smart young people.
Sympathy
Our sympathy goes out to the family of 63-year-old Margaret (Waugh) Beaulieu, of Caribou, who passed away in Presque Isle on Monday, March 31. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of David and Alice Waugh. Margaret graduated from Easton High School in the Class of 1962. She was employed at Mecon, of Caribou, and Coro-tech Industries, in Michigan. She married Joseph Donald Beaulieu two years after graduation. They had two sons, Donald Beaulieu and Mark Beaulieu and family, all of Bangor, and one daughter, Vicki Strainer and family of Argyle, N.Y., whom she leaves behind. She also leaves her mother – Alice; three brothers – Ronald and family, of Tilly, New Brunswick; Robert and family, of Easton; and Vernon, of Gordonsville, New Brunswick. Two grandchildren, Lily and Evan Beauleau, both of Bangor. She was predeceased by her father and two brothers, Dale and Gary Waugh; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fredrick and Harriet Beaulieu; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Beaulieu and Brian Fields. Visiting hours were on Wednesday at the Mockler Funeral Home in Caribou with the funeral service the next day at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou, with Father David Raymond, associate pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial.
