Now that the weather is warming, snow is melting and gray skies are clearing up, we at the PIDRC can’t help but smile. As we look around, we see great changes that are being made, but more importantly, we feel great changes being made. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the county – especially the residents of our fair city of Presque Isle. The words of encouragement, the simple ways that you remind us of all that once was and could once again be in Presque Isle mean so much.
Our fair Star City looks dusted off a bit this spring and has even begun to twinkle. Sometimes it pays to slow your pace down to notice these things and appreciate how small things make a big difference. The theater is now open and Moms and Dads are once again coming downtown for a Saturday matinee, the canopy lights at the Braden welcome young couples and friends alike. A&J Florist is now providing lovely flowers downtown. The Elks are planning exciting new things. We have great new restaurants and The Merchants on The Corner are providing all of us “townies” with enough things to do that we have weathered the winter well.
As we speak, little flowers for our summer Main Street are blooming in a greenhouse somewhere, cared for by the hands of our own. For those of you who remember Presque Isle in its heyday, thank you for your words of encouragement. For those of you who recognize the improvements and share them with us, thank you for your support.
