Dunn Furniture attends world’s biggest trade show

INTERNATIONAL TRADE SHOW — Frank Dunn and David Brown of Dunn Furniture Company recently attended an international trade show here at the International Home Furnishings Center in High Point, N.C.
    High Point has the largest trade show in the world. Approximately 85,000 people visit each market to shop through the 188 buildings, housing 2,600 exhibitors, with 272 acres of showroom space. During their stay at the furniture show, Dunn and Brown shopped manufacturers of furniture, mattresses, floor covering, accessories and lamps to obtain the latest in styles and colors for their new showroom. They also attended seminars on the changes in furniture designs, styles, and color trends. They do this every market in order to keep Dunns’ staff on the cutting edge.
    What is hot? Well, according to Connie Post, the internationally famous designer who designed Dunn Furniture’s new showroom, yellow is the hot color for this year.
    “Look at the rooms pictured in today’s shelter magazines such as House & Garden. Check the room settings in the ads from trend setting furniture makers and you will find yellow: Yellow walls, yellow fabrics and even yellow furniture. So put a little sunshine in your homes,” says Post.
    Anyone looking to add some of the “hot new color” to their home should visit Dunn’s and ask about Discount Cards to save money on paint.
    “As members of the National Home Furniture Association, Dunn Furniture has discount cards available for paint. So if you want to brighten your walls with a new color, be sure to come to Dunn Furniture and pick up your discount card,” said Dunn. “We are getting close to the completion of our remodeling. Presently, we are installing new flooring, carpet, laminated floors, hardwood and ceramic tile. We are offering special pricing on all of our floor samples, because it is hard to put down a new floor when there is furniture on it. Plus, many of the new items we purchased at the International Furniture Show have already arrived.”
    But that’s only part of what’s new at Dunn’s.
    “This is a very exciting time for Dunn’s,” he added. “We will be giving away a Pontiac Solstice convertible to one of our shoppers, and we are going to have the most exciting store in Maine. Come see how we are changing. We see wonderful changes every day.”
