A total of 33 out of the 122 Job Corps centers around the countty received the award for their outstanding community outreach efforts.

Aroostook Mental Health Center’s Monique Stairs, a sexual assault specialist, right, recognized masonry instructor, David Tardie, of the Loring Job Corps Center, on April 10. Tardie and students in his program made and donated a birdbath that was auctioned during the Andy Santerre Run in February. Proceeds from the auction were included in the $40,000 raised by snowmobile run. The funds will be used on sexual assault services, education and counseling, according to AMHC officials.
