
The director of the Loring Job Corps Center, James Gagnon, center, holds the “Twelve Star” Award, given to the Limestone campus by the National Job Corps Association earlier this month. Joining him at the presentation was Pat Zenzius, chairperson of the Center Industry Council, and Dr. Reginald Reed, LJCC community liaison. A total of 33 out of the 122 Job Corps centers around the countty received the award for their outstanding community outreach efforts.

Aroostook Mental Health Center’s Monique Stairs, a sexual assault specialist, right, recognized masonry instructor, David Tardie, of the Loring Job Corps Center, on April 10. Tardie and students in his program made and donated a birdbath that was auctioned during the Andy Santerre Run in February. Proceeds from the auction were included in the $40,000 raised by snowmobile run. The funds will be used on sexual assault services, education and counseling, according to AMHC officials.
