HOULTON — Any boys interested in playing Little League Baseball, as well as any girls interested in playing Little League Softball, who are ages 9-12 should plan on attending tryouts at the Little League field in the Community Park Saturday, April 26. (In case of bad weather, tryouts will be at the Houlton High School gym.)
Tryout times are as follows: baseball players ages 9 and 10 from 9 – 11 a.m., baseball players ages 11 and 12 from noon to 2 p.m., and softball players ages 9-12 from 3-5 p.m.
Any players who haven’t registered yet can still sign up and register on-line on the Little League website at www.houltonarealittleleague.org. They can also register just before the tryouts at the ball field. Players who haven’t already done so, should bring a photocopy of their state or town birth certificate to the try-outs.
All players will be selected to play on a league team and if anyone cannot afford the registration fees, please contact Ben Drew confidentially at 532-2657 and the league will make necessary arrangements for your child. The costs are $40 per player. For families who have 2 children playing in any division the cost is $35 each, and $30 for families with 3 or more players.
