Sinclair post office to process passport forms

The Madawaska Post Office will hold a “passport day” at the Patrick Theriault School at 425 Martin Road, Sinclair, on Saturday, June 7 from 1-3 p.m., in order to help local residents obtain quickly and conveniently this office document necessary for international travel.     U.S. passports are issued by the U.S. Department of State, but applications are available at most post offices. Applicants need to bring an original copy of their birth certificate (with a raised seal) and proof of identity.
Children under 14 require both parents present and need a long form birth certificate. Postal staff will have a camera available for passport photos for $15.
Passport fees are $75 ($60 for children under 16), made payable to the Department of State, and $25 ($40 with photos), made payable to the U.S. Postal Service. Only cash or checks can be accepted.
Processing takes about six to eight weeks and there will be expedited mailing services available if needed. This is a convenient opportunity to obtain a passport, which will be valid for 10 years (or five year if under age 16).
Any questions, please call the Madawaska Post Office at 728-4302.
