    Bangor – Paul T. Jilek, 63, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, with his family at his side. He was born May 23, 1944, in Sharker Heights, OH, the son of Louis and Angela (Gaertner) Jilek.
    Paul grew up in northeast Ohio. He was a life long school teacher receiving his masters degree in education from the University of Maine and enjoying his career at Katahdin Elementary. Paul had a strong love for his family, Maine and the outdoors.
    He is survived by children: Jennifer Dubois and her husband Brent of Island Falls, Molly Griffin and her husband Michael of Littleton, MA, Nicholas Jilek and Heather Bartlett of Etna, and Christian Jilek and his wife Sally Gee of La Grande, OR; former wife, Marion Jilek; grandchildren, Desirae Dubois and Benjamin Griffin; and brothers, William and Michael Jilek. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Jilek; and his brothers, Robert and Louis Jilek.
    A service of remembrance was held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Brookings-Smith Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services, Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating.
