Whiting named to dean’s list

    Tawnie Whiting of Bangor, formerly of Houlton, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. She started her formal education in Houlton at Headstart, Kindergarten and first grade. She is a 2007 graduate of Bangor High. She is the daughter of Lynnotte and Bruce Barnes of Bangor and Kenneth Whiting of Rockland. Her maternal grandparents are Gerry Tidd and Chris Richardson of Houlton. Her paternal grandparents are Kenneth and Bonnie Whiting of Danforth.

Thomas College announces dean’s list

    WATERVILLE — The following Thomas College students were named to the dean’s list in the undergraduate, day division for the spring 2008 semester.
    Dean’s list students include: Brandi Violette of Benedicta, Samantha Boyce of Bridgewater, Tim Hartin of Island Falls and Paul Lovett Jr. of Stacyville.

NESCOM holds commencement

    BANGOR—The New England School of Communications handed out diplomas to a record 68 graduates at its annual Commencement May 10. Of that total, 22 received 2-year Associate Degrees and 46 received the Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications.
    Those receiving degrees included: Elias Cottle and Kyle McCormick, both of Houlton, who earned Associate Degrees.

Area students graduate from UMF

    FARMINGTON — Of the 450 members of the University of Maine at Farmington 2008 graduating class, approximately 393 graduates marched in the University's 155th Commencement ceremony May 17 on the UMF campus.
    Graduates included Kathryn Duffy-Stanley of Benedicta who earned a B.S., Community Health Education and Psychology and Sarah Wright of Houlton who earned a B.S., Rehabilitation Services.
