PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Police are investigating burglaries at two storage facilities located on the Houlton Rd.
The Presque Isle Police Department received a call at about 8:46 a.m. on May 16 from the owner of one facility reporting locks had been cut off of several storage units. The site has a security system and Officer Jeff Mechalko responded to investigate the incident.
Police received a similar report around 8:23 p.m. the same day from the caretaker of a second storage facility, also located on the Houlton Rd.
The owner/manager of the units was out of town, according to the caretaker, and no one had checked the facility since Tuesday.
The caretaker reported he checked the units earlier on Friday and discovered at least four units had been broken into.
Officer Kevin Reed, of the PIPD, responded to the scene.
Both cases remain under investigation.
