CARIBOU – Aroostook County youth aged 8 to 14 are invited to join Maine Winter Sports Center staff for outdoor-based skills and fitness sessions with a focus on fun. Programs will be offered in Houlton, Presque Isle, Caribou, Madawaska and Fort Kent, and will feature activities such as mountain biking, trail running, outdoor games, roller skiing and orienteering.
Each location will host a six-week program beginning the first week of July. There is no fee to participate.
The Caribou site is the Caribou High School Ski Center and runs on Wednesdays (July 2 to Aug. 6) from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
The Presque Isle site is the Nordic Heritage Center and runs on Thursdays (July 3 to Aug. 7) from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
