Help sought in solving case

Reward offered
Sometime between January and March 2008, two snowmobiles were stolen from Arlo McPherson’s farm. They are an Artic Cat Bearcat and an Artic Cat Jag, both 440s. Both had covers that had been customized to fit on the new backrests that were added to the sleds.

Mr. McPherson is offering a $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of the thieves. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the State Police at 800-924-2261, Case Number SP08-036321. The reward will be given if and when the person(s) responsible have been convicted. Thank you for your assistance in solving this crime.
Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met at the Aroostook Health Center on Tuesday, June 10, at 6:30 a.m. The special speaker was Edward Wright. Recently returned from Viet Nam, he spoke about the year he spent in the country teaching telecommunications and erecting cell towers. He had fascinating photos and some interesting items to show.
Ed found the people, most of whom are under the age of 24,  very open and friendly. They are a very family-oriented society, with six to eight members in each family. In addition to their native language, most speak English.
By our way of thinking, it is very inexpensive to live in Viet Nam. A room costs between $10 – 15 per month, with a meal costing around 30 cents. Most families use a motor bike as their mode of transportation. It is not unusual to see a family of six or more piled on a bike. There are around 150 bikes for every car on the road. Traffic is a very ‘me first’ affair and, in the case of a mishap, the larger vehicle is always at fault!
Although they are governed by communists, the people accept it and focus on getting ahead. Rice patty workers routinely work 16 hours a day for $1 per day wages – and do it happily. The main building material in the country is concrete. In fact, even the telephone poles are made of concrete!
The people see education as the way to get ahead – and pay for their children’s school. The medical system is very poor, with most  going to Thailand for care if  possible.
