Caribou High School’s Annual Academic Awards Night was held on Thursday, May 22.
This annual event is organized by the Caribou Chapter of the National Honor Society (N.H.S) and is funded by the Caribou School Department. Ally Hessert, president of the N.H.S. and Karyn King, chairperson of the organizing committee served as the mistresses of ceremonies for the event.
The N.H.S. Organizing Committee was composed of Ally Hessert, Amy Anderson, Karyn King, Lindsey Cote, Meagan Bossie and Mr. Kennith Atcheson, N.H.S. advisor.
Caribou High School Principal Mark A. Jones and Caribou School Department Assistant Superintendent Brenda Fetch each complimented the students on their academic achievements and urged them to continue to strive for success.
Jones and Assistant Principal David Wakana awarded Academic Achievement Certificates, Principal’s Awards and Academic Excellence Pins to students in the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades based upon their honor roll attainment for three consecutive quarters.
The academic disciplines of Caribou High School made the following awards: English Language Arts: Laura Collins, ninth grade; Danielle Lane and Megan Jandreau, tenth grade; Jeoffrey Pucci, eleventh grade; and Bryant Sirois, twelfth grade: English Book Award Jarred Sleeper: Mathematics; Ezra Duplissie-Cyr, ninth grade; Jarred Sleeper, tenth grade; Jesse Stephens, eleventh grade; and Amy Anderson, twelfth grade: Social Studies: Ezra Duplissie-Cyr, ninth grade; Benjamin Wyman, tenth grade; Jeoffrey Pucci, eleventh grade; and Bryant Sirois, twelfth grade.
Sciences (all of eleventh grade): Society of Women’s Engineers for the High School Girl award, Meagan Bossie; New England Science Teacher’s Award for the Outstanding Science Student, Katelyn Flick; Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award for Exceptional Promises in the Sciences, Christine Kashian: Sciences (all of twelfth grade): Stephen Bielinski Memorial Award for the Senior with the Highest Average in Lab Sciences for four years, Amy Anderson; and CHS Science Dept., Award for Senior Demonstrating the Most Outstanding Personal Achievement, Danielle Pelkey.
French: Francais I, Kevin Turcotte; Francais II, Jonathan Ouellette; Francais II Advance, Duncan Flynn; Francais III, Chelsea LeBlanc; and Francais IV, Karyn King.
Spanish: Espanol I, Fin Bonderson; Espanol II, Christopher Gustufson; Espanol III Keyleigh Bennet; and Espanol IV Danny Rush.
National French Exam: French 2A; Jarred Sleeper (fourth), Travis Hallett (sixth), Emily Anderson (seventh) and Sarah Englund (eighth): French 2B; Robert Kiehn (second and eighth in nation as a whole), Laura Collins (sixth) and Ezra Duplissie-Cyr: French 3; Laura Collins (ninth): French 5; Allison Hessert (fourth): Physical Education, Karyn King: Health, Ryan Clark.
Individual team awards were given to members of the Chess and Mathematics teams.
