To the editor:
The National Association of Postmasters of the United States, Maine Chapter 29 would like to thank the greater Caribou area for it welcome during our annual state convention held at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center, June 23-26, 2008. Special thanks to the Caribou Inn and its pleasant and courteous staff for a great week with great food!
Our thanks to the Young Marines Country Patriots for the presentation of colors and Junior Miss Potato Blossom 2007, 13-year-old Hannah Hebert, with a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem, making our opening ceremony a very special event.
Thanks to Lisa Cantafio, the Postmaster of Caribou, for welcoming her fellow postmasters to town.
Wendy Landes from Caribou Chamber of Commerce & Industry welcomed the postmasters with registration bags stuffed with information about the surrounding businesses including the Aroostook Centre Mall in Presque Isle. Many businesses had signs welcoming us to the area, which pleased many of the postmasters that were out in the community shopping.
Many of the postmasters were first-time visitors to the area. Thank you for all your county hospitality!
