Red Cross to offer babysitter training

    The Aroostook County Branch of the American Red Cross-Pine Tree Chapter is offering a babysitter’s training on Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Girl Scout Office, 3 Houlton Road in Presque Isle, behind the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce.     Adolescents, ages 11-15, can get the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to care for infants and children.
    Participants will receive a special portfolio and an American Red Cross Certificate for the training and First Aid/CPR training. Cost is $45 per student.
    The babysitter’s training has been reviewed and supported by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Girl Scouts of the USA, Boy Scouts of American, YMCA of the USA, Boys and Girls Clubs, JCC Association and 4-H.
