Caribou Middle School students celebrated the last day of school, June 12, with the second annual “Pie a Teacher” assembly. Students voted for which teacher they most wanted to see get ‘pied.’ The top four vote-getters dressed up in costumes and entered the auditorium to a song picked especially for them. In this photo, Mitchell St. Peter prepares to throw Mrs. ‘Miss America’ Hunter’s second pie, while the student body cheers behind him.

Mr. Fantasia uses Assistant Principal Duprey’s microphone to address student, Brandon Brown, after the pie thrown by Brown hit the teacher directly in the face. Fantasia came well prepared for the event, complete with protective eye goggles and a target attached to his shirt.

The “Pie a Teacher” event also enlists the students and staff’s help in raising money for a good cause. This year they raised $582, which will be split between the United Way of Aroostook and Heifer International, an organization which sends livestock and agricultural products to people around the world who are in need.

Each teacher received two pies, which were thrown at them by members of the student body, whose names were pulled out of a hat during the assembly.
