Kevin Spencer and Friends, a southern gospel trio, is set to perform in  Houlton on Sunday, July 27, 2008. The concert takes place at the Houlton Full Gospel Assembly at 11 a.m.
Kevin Spencer and Friends was organized in June of 1992. The group consists of Kevin Spencer, James Dean and Starla Dean.
Kevin formerly traveled with the Spencers and has witnessed many lives changed through gospel music. He is admired by his fans whenever the group goes with his desire to be a blessing, and minister, while delivering a song. His greatest moments were when something he was written or sung has truly touched someone's life. He also owns and operates the Some Dawning Music Co. Inc. Intl., a company that includes recording, songwriting, publishing, promoting and producing of great southern gospel music.
James enjoys traveling from town to town singing for God. He also enjoys meeting people and making new friends everywhere they go. He joined the group in 1997 and has built quite a fan base with his beautiful voice. His love for gospel music continues to grow as more lives are touched day by day. He also helps run the offices at Some Dawning Music Co.
Starla joined the group in 2006, singing tenor. She has a beautiful voice whether singing harmony or pleasing the fans with her own song and style. She also works in the office assisting Kevin with the Some Dawning Music Co. James and Starla are newlyweds and feel very blessed to tour and minister as husband and wife.
Kevin Spencer and Friends have recorded three number one songs! Their hit songs and fan favorites include: "The Blood is Still There," "If the Rapture Was Yesterday," "Walk On The Water," "Let's Meet By The River," "Let's Feel That Spirit Again," "Saved By Grace," "Oh What A Savior," "Come Away," "Sounds Of That City" and many more!!
