Potato Blossom Festival crowns junior, little queens

    Junior Miss Mapleton Michaela Powers (center) was crowned the 2008 Junior Miss Potato Queen on Wednesday, July 16. Powers is the daughter of Sue and Joe Powers. Junior Miss Caribou Natash Bishop (left) was named first runner-up, and Junior Miss Presque Isle Hannah Patterson (right) was named second runner-up.     Little Miss contestants kicked off the pageant by dancing to “Surfin’ Safari” by the Beach Boys. Joined by 2007 Little Miss Maine Potato Queen Molly Anthony, the girls wore matching pink shirts and shorts.
