Albert, Gertrude M., 101, Limestone, in Van Buren, July 19, 2008. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone at 10 a.m. on July 26. Arrangements are in the care of the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.
Limestone – Gertrude M. Albert, age 101, passed away on July 19, 2008, at a Van Buren health facility. Gertrude was born in Limestone, Maine on November 27, 1906, the daughter of Michael and Emily (Goodine) McLaughlin. She was a life-long communicant at St. Louis Catholic Church, a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella and of the Ladies of St. Anne. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Portland, Maine and Aroostook State Normal School in Presque Isle, Maine. She was the current holder of the Boston Post Cane.
She is survived by two sons, Paul of Riverview, Florida and John and his wife Elizabeth of Limestone, two daughters LouAnn Watt and husband Albert, of Cross Lake, and Barbara Brock, of Tampa, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Thomas on October 13, 1976, four brothers and three sisters. She will be missed and remembered by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She always enjoyed their many visits.
The family wishes to express their greatest appreciation to the administration and staff of the BorderView Rehabilita-tion and Living Center for the love, care and concern for their mother.
At her request there will be no viewing hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone at 10 o’clock on Saturday, July 26, 2008 with Father Jean-Paul Labrie celebrant. Interment will take place following the service at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Limestone. Their will be refreshments offered in the church fellowship hall following the interment. In lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the St. Louis Catholic Church or the Robert Frost Memorial Library Building Fund.
