Brooks, Mary E., 81, Lowell, MA; in Billerica, MA, March 11, 2008. Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.     Lowell, MA – Mary E. Brooks, 81, of Lowell, MA, formly of Woburn, MA, passed away on March 11, 2008, at LifeCare Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica, MA. She was born August 8, 1926, in Presque Isle, the daughter of the late Clinton E. Small and the late Angela (Ochs) Small.
    She was a devoted mother of George C. Brooks Esq. of Lowell, MA. Mrs. Brooks was a longtime resident of Woburn, MA, currently of Lowell, MA. Mrs. Brooks was a graduate of Boston Univeristy with a major in History and a minor in English. Mrs. Brooks taught for 33 years, which included 18 years in Winchester, MA, 9 years in Baldwinville, MA, 1 year in Swampscott, MA, and 3 years in North Dartmouth, MA, and 2 years  in Mapleton, ME. She retired in 1985 from the Noonan Elementary School where she taught English, reading and writing. After retiring from teaching, she also worked for the insurance brokerage firm of AON Corporation for ten years. Mrs. Brooks was a member of the National Organization for Women and the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association.
    A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
