Bridge Dedication
The public is invited to the formal dedication of Houlton’s new ATV/Snowsled Bridge over the Meduxnekeag River on Saturday, July 26 at 10 a.m.
Those without a four-wheeler will meet in parking lot next to Ivey’s Motel beginning at 9:30 a.m. and shuttle service will be offered to the bridge site..
The event is sponsored by Aroostook Riders ATV Club and the town of Houlton.
100th Birthday party
All friends and family are welcome to join in the celebration of Shirley Allen's 100th Birthday on Sunday July 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Gardiner Health Care Facility Houlton.
Canning Workshops
PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will be offering a two-part food canning workshop on July 30 and 31 from 9am – noon at the Cooperative Extension office in Presque Isle. Part I will cover the basics of food canning and the class will practice using a water bath canner. Part II will cover pressure canning and participants will have the opportunity to can with a pressure canner.
Registration for these hands-on workshops is $10 for both sessions. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. egister at 800-287-1421.
