BANGOR – The Aroostook County Patriots were two runs down going into the top of the seventh inning of their game against Motor City on July 15. Caribou’s Ted Walker belted a double to put two runners across home and tie the game at seven points each. Matt Enman (Limestone) singled to put the Patriots on top, and later scored the ninth run. The Patriots took their fourth win, 9-8.
Pat Thibodeau (Caribou) hit three singles, and Matt Chasse (Presque Isle) singled two times in the win.
Moving on from the momentum of their Motor City victory, the Patriots went on to defeat Lincoln Lumber 7-4 in last Thursday’s road game. After a three-inning long dry spell, the Patriots took over the lead with four runs in the top of the fourth, and held Lincoln to one run as they scored three more for the final score.
Logan McLaughlin (Central Aroostook) and Enman combined pitching to allow only four hits.
Chasse doubled and hit three RBIs while Enman hit three singles for the Patriots. Zac Campbell (Presque Isle) also helped three batters home.
Penquis hosted the Patriots to double defeat in Sunday’s season-ending doubleheader. In the first game, Penquis held Aroostook County to two runs in the third inning toward the 6-2 final. Kasey Brewer (Central Aroostook) and Matt Parsons (Presque Isle) both singled for the Patriots.
In the second game, Penquis took a 14-7 victory. Thibodeau tripled, hit two singles and one RBI. Enman found his pitch for two singles.
