Youth baseball results
Katahdin Trust vs. Savings Bank

    Katahdin Trust knocked off Savings Bank, 6-3. Nick Bartlett led the way going four-for-four with a homer and three doubles. Oliver Garrish tripled, and Ryan Player had a triple and a double. Connor Murchison also added a single.     For Savings Bank, Brycen Libby had two singles, Ryan Bridges had three singles and Byron Winslow had three singles.
Key Bank vs. K of C
    The Minor League teams of Key Bank and K of C squared off on Monday. K of C won the game 2-0. Picking up a victory was Cooper Madore. Receiving the loss was Sam Gray. Madore gave up zero hits, zero runs with 11 strikes for Key Bank. Gray made two great catches, and Joseph Boone made a key play at first. K of C was led by two doubles by Madore and one single each from Denny Young, Jack James and Cole Staples.
Savings Bank vs. K of C
    The Minor League round robin began with Savings Bank facing K of C. Savings Bank won the game 7-6. Libby received the win while Young got the loss. Savings Bank was led by Libby with two singles and a double. Taylor Williams had three singles, and Winslow had a single. K of C hitters were Kyle Kilcollins with two singles, Young with two singles and Jason Bartley with a single. Young had 11 strikes for K of C while Libby had 12 strikes for Savings Bank. Drew Henderson made a key play at third base.
Key Bank vs. Katahdin Trust
    In game two, Key Bank took on Katahdin Trust. Katahdin Trust won 5-3 with Player getting the win. Receiving the loss was Gray. Katahdin Trust was led by a single from Garrish. Gray and Evan Leach each singled to lead Key Bank. Gray pitched eight strikes and allowed only one hit while Player also had eight strikes and only two hits allowed.
Key Bank vs. Savings Bank
    In game three, Key Bank and Savings Bank matched skills. Savings Bank came out on top 9-1. David Kofstad gained a win while Grant Stewart received the loss. Stewart led Key Bank with a single. Savings Bank was led by Libby with a double, Bridges with a single and Taylor Williams with a single. Josiah Morse and Kofstad reached base safely in all three plate appearances. Pitching for Key Bank, Stewart had six strikes. The duo of Libby and Kofstad gave up only one run, one hit and 10 strikes.
Katahdin Trust vs. K of C
    The last game of the round robin Katahdin Trust and K of C squared off.
    Katahdin Trust won 5-1 with a five-run fourth inning. Garrish got the win while K. Kilcollins received the loss. Katahdin Trust was led by Connor Murchison with one single, Corrie Kilcollins with two singles, Devin Grant with one single, Garrish with one single and Player with one single. K of C was led by Madore with a triple, Young with a double and a single, Carter Doherty with a single and K. Kilcollins with two singles. Garrish gave up only one run with nine strikes for Katahdin Trust while K. Kilcollins had seven strikes for K of C.
Pony League
    RBD faced off with Mars Hill to start of the fifth week of the league. RBD was defeated by a score of 16-1.
    Both Presque Isle teams matched up to play a couple of out-of-town teams. RBD once again took on Mars Hill having a little better outing. Pitcher Josh Reed held Mars Hill to two earned runs and three unearned runs. Evan Waddell finished out the game on the hill. RBD’s Landon Keiser had a three-run triple. RBD lost by a score of 11-3.
    On the other side of town, the Wildcats hosted Ashland. Ryley Norton received the win for the Cats.
    Working on their slugging percentages Wilder York, Isaac Lajoie, Amos Dean and Norton all had doubles. The Cats won 17-0.
Swim team
    The Presque Isle swim team, sponsored by Aroostook Savings and Loan, took second in the Maine Potato Blossom Festival Swim meet.

PI Classic bike race
    The PI Classic bike race will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3. Registration is at 9 a.m. with the race to follow at 10 a.m.
    The cost is $14. The race is open to ages 14 and up. For more information, call 764-2545.
Outdoor Pool
    The Outdoor Pool is now open for the summer. Hours are Monday to Friday from 2 to 4:45 p.m. and 6 to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4:45 p.m.
    Drain day for the pool is July 30.
Indoor Pool
    The Indoor Pool will begin pre-paid registration on Aug. 4 for the Aug. 18 to Oct. 26 session.
    Parent/toddler classes are Tuesdays at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
    Three-year-old non-swimming lessons are Mondays at 6 p.m., Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at 9 a.m. and Fridays at 9 a.m.
    Four- to 5-year-old non-swimming lessons are Mondays at 6:30 p.m.; Tuesdays at 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.; Wednesdays at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m.; Thursdays at 9 a.m. or 3 p.m.; and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. or 10 a.m.
    Three- to 5-year-old lessons for those able to swim 10-yeards without support are Mondays at 7 p.m., Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
    Learn to swim for those 6 years or older and unable to swim 15-yards are Tuesdays at 3 p.m. or 4 p.m., Thursdays at 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. or 11 a.m.
    Advanced 3- to 5-year-old lessons are Mondays at 1 p.m. or Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
    Learn to swim II and III classes are Tuesdays at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. or 6 p.m.; Wednesdays at 1 p.m.; Thursdays at 3 p.m. or  6 p.m.; and Saturdays at 8 a.m. or 11 a.m.
    Level III and IV classes are Tuesdays or Thursdays at 5 p.m.
    Level V and VI classes are Mondays at 4 p.m. or 7 p.m.; Tuesdays at 4 p.m.; Wednesdays at 1 p.m., Thursdays at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. or 6 p.m.; and Saturdays at 8 a.m. or 11 a.m.
    Adult beginner lessons are Mondays at 1 p.m. or Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
    Adult advanced beginner class is Wednesday at 7 p.m.
    Water exercise classes are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. or Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
    Water jogging classes are Mondays and Wednesdays at 4 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m.

Youth soccer registration
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks is currently holding registration for its youth soccer program at the William V. Haskell Community Center.
    The program is offered to boys and girls in grades one to six. The registration fee is $15.
    Schedules and rosters will be handed out at the community center on Wednesday, August 13 with play beginning August 25 for grades one and two and the week of August 18 for grades three to six.
