Exchange program makes world a little smaller

    PROGRAM MAKES WORLD A LITTLE SMALLER — Exchange students from the area and from away dined with the Houlton Rotary Club on Monday, July 14. The Houlton Rotary Club sponsors the international youth exchange program every year, allowing two area teens the opportunity to visit a country of their choice. The program also allows teenagers of the host families the opportunity to visit northern Maine and experience Aroostook County culture. Attending the luncheon were, from left, Houlton Rotary President Fred Grant, Peggy McGary, Emily McGary (Peggy’s daughter), Maria Pillar Villarig of Spain, Anna-Sophie Sternick of Austria, Katie Duff and Terri Duff, Katie’s mother. Emily visited Maria’s family in Spain and Katie visited Anna’s family in Austria.
