    Houlton – Margaret Brewer Rhoda, 83, wife of the late Wakelief Rhoda, passed away peacefully Aug. 3, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 10, 1924, at Houlton, the daughter of Harry and Ola (Huggard) Brewer.
    Margaret was in the banking business for 40+ years, retiring as Fleet Bank Service Representative. Margaret was a devoted wife assisting with the family farming operation. She was a member of the Houlton United Methodist Church, a member of the Church Ebbett Circle and past member of the Board of Trustees, a member of the Quiet Quilters Church group and a past member of the Houlton Community Country Club. The two loves of her life were golfing and playing bridge.
    Margaret is survived by two daughters, Jane Guy and her husband David of Hodgdon, Karen Sumner and her husband Larry of Brewer; four grandchildren, Tabor Young of Boothbay, Jordan Guy of Hodgdon, Paige and Jordyn Sumner both of Brewer. She was predeceased by her husband, Wakelief Rhoda and her infant son, Michael Allen.
    The family would like to express a special thank you for the wonderful care given to Margaret by Visiting Nurses of Aroostook and the Ambulatory Department of Houlton Regional Hospital.
    Friends called 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Houlton United Methodist Church with Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery followed by a reception at the Houlton United Methodist Church.
