The Central Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District, in cooperation with FB Environmental Associates and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, will meet from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, at the Central Aroostook SWCD offices on Main St. to discuss the combined Total Maximum Daily Load report for the Prestile Stream and Christina Reservoir watersheds. Residents of Fort Fairfield, Easton, Westfield, Mars Hill and Presque Isle, may learn about the TMDL process, discuss reducing nutrient and sediment loading to these water bodies, and restore and maintaining acceptable water quality conditions.
Draft reports are available at Maine DEP Northern Maine Regional offices in Presque Isle or at the Central Maine DEP offices in Augusta or at www.maine.gov/dep/blwq/comment.htm.
