Safety ID day for kids; pets

Caribou Fire and Ambulance, Caribou Police Department, Caribou Pet Rescue and Caribou EMA will host a “Safety ID Day for Kids and Pets” on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.    With Dr. James Hotham, the pet shelter will offer a pet microchip clinic for $15, along with distemper and rabies vaccinations available at clinic low prices.    The police Department. will offer free “iris scans” for children from the Missing Children’s Network. The County EMA team and Caribou C.E.R.T. team members will host a free hot dog lunch for all pet owners who microchip their pets and iris scan their children for National I.D. Safety purposes.
The Caribou Kiwanis Club will host a strawberry shortcake dessert for a fee. Several pets will be on site with opportunities for adoption.
