Congratulations to the team of Warren Walker, Fred London, Steve Merry and Jerry Adams from VaJoWa, who came in first at the Crime Stoppers Tournament in Mars Hill. Coming in second was the team of Kurt McDowell, Tim Hartin, Scot Walker and Aaron Flannery, also all from VaJoWa.
    The County Open Charity Golf Tournament is coming up this weekend, with a scramble on Friday at VaJoWa. The County Open is a 36-hole event with 18 holes being played at VaJoWa and 18 holes being played at Houlton. The cost is $65 per player. The field is limited to 140 players.
VaJoWa Golf Course is hosting an Old-Fashioned Field Day on Saturday, August 25. This is an individual stroke play event that will use 90 percent of a player’s handicap and be flighted. After the round, enjoy the outdoor barbecue. Prizes are awarded for both net and gross winners.
