Bradley’s: Convenience first

PRESQUE ISLE – Whether you’re looking for a great meal, snack, car wash or need gas at 1 a.m., Bradley’s 24-Hour Citgo and Car Wash at 46 North St. is always open for business.     Mike and Carla Cyr, owners, have been serving the community for 12 years at Bradley’s.
“We opened the car was 22 years ago and the store 12,” said Mike Cyr.
The convenience store offers a variety of snack products and necessities. It carries an extensive menu in its dining area, with items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The store has pastries, 10 flavors of Green Mountain coffee, six cappuccino flavors, Slush Puppies and frozen drinks. From meals to desserts, home-style cooking keeps customers coming back.
“We have an expanded, air-conditioned dining section, with seating for 32,” said Cyr. “We offer homemade pastries and donuts from Alice’s Bakery, and Carla’s own home-cooked specialties.”
Drive-up service makes purchases quick and easy.
“Our drive-up window is open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. It’s convenient. Call ahead and we’ll have your order ready on arrival,” continued Cyr. “Whether you have a medical condition, sleepy kids in the car or it’s too cold to get out, window service enables you to shop from your vehicle.”
Bradley’s offers pay-at-the-pumps gas service, with full-service available 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Next door, the car was offers full- and self-serve options.
Bradley’s was the first 24-hour gas and C-store, first pay-at-the-pumps, first with a deli and drive-through window in the city. The store also accepts Food Stamps.
The business has 10 full-time and 13 part-time employees. The secret to Cyr’s success is 24-hour service and great employees.
“The fact we’re open all the time – 24/7 – means we’re there for the customer, day and night, providing the best service possible,” said Cyr.
“Customer service is everything. It’s what separates our store from others,” he said.
Cyr sees benefits in a locally-owned and –operated business.
“The profits stay in the community. When business is good, it’s good for Presque Isle,” he said. “We have a large selection of items offered at fair prices, have been here for many years and plan to be here many more.”
