Woods address heating needs

MAPLETON – Two businesses that share the same address have one goal in mind: to satisfy their customers.
Mapleton Oil Company and Delmont Wood and Sons, Inc., both call 39 Hughes Road “home.”     The oil company is owned by Dale and Tim Wood who provide home heating oil and kerosene deliveries to Mapleton and surrounding communities. Bob’s Plumbing and Heating and P&J Energy Services provide installation and maintenance services for the company.
“Dale and Tim opened for business in November of 2003,” said their mother, Brenda Wood, who manages the office.
The business works hard to accommodate customers’ needs with three delivery trucks, one tanker and an on-site tank farm.
“We try to fill their needs by filling their tanks, keeping everyone happy and warm,” said Brenda Wood. “We also offer pre-buy and budget plans, with contracts running from June 1 to May 31.”
She added many of their sales are made on-the-spot.
Due to the extra services and added productivity, Lisa Dubay has joined the team.
Business hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday. They do offer on-call service and can respond if there’s a need.

Delmont Wood and Sons, Inc. shares office space with the company and is owned by Brenda and Morris Wood. Founded by Delmont Wood 58 years ago, it is now in its third generation.
“Tim and Dale work with us too,” said Brenda Wood.
The business offers excavating, sewer and leach field installation, pumping of sewers, bulldozing and foundation digging, as well as gravel and loam.
At present, there are four full-time and four part-time employees.
Morris Wood joked that “good health and a good banker” was the secret to his success, adding that doing the job to a customer’s specifications is very important and that customer service is always their first priority.
They also have a convenient drop-off box for payments.
