An 18 year-old male was arrested last week after an off duty police officer noticed a confrontation in the parking lot of Horton’s Lumber.
Jamie Day, of Lincoln, was spotted by officer Nason on Friday, August 15, apparently in an argument with a 58 year-old male from Houlton. Officer Nason, who was off duty, reported what he had seen in the parking lot. Officer Fitzpatrick and Officer Wotton arrived at the scene, and spoke to Nason, who explained that he saw Day flailing his arms toward the Houlton man.
The victim explained that Day confronted him while he was cutting through the parking lot, ripped the sunglasses off of his face, demanded that he give him all of his money, and threatened physical harm if his demands were not met.
The victim also identified Day as being the guilty party in a July 19 incident, in which the he was assaulted near the Highland Avenue bridge. According to Police Chief Butch Asselin, the victim was walking by the bridge when Day approached him, pushed him, broke his sunglasses and threatened to break his necklace.
At the time, the victim could not provide a description of the guilty party, but was able to identify Day as the one who assaulted him following the August 15 incident.
Day has been charged with Class B robbery.
