PIHS announces fall musical plans

PRESQUE ISLE – Presque Isle High School has announced its fall musical selection. The Shipmates’ Playhouse will produce “Seussical,” a creative and modern musical that is a conglomeration of many Seuss elements woven together into a brand new story.  The show addresses issues involving humanity, perseverance, honor, worldwide peace, and the power of imagination. The music is hip, contemporary, and electric! Children will enjoy the characters and costumes, but adults are sure to find the story and the music moving and relevant.
Headlining the talented cast is senior Zach Fowler who returns to the musical stage this season after his stunning portrayal of Tevye in last fall’s hit production of “Fiddler on the Roof.” Tamia Glidden returns for her fourth season with the Shipmates as the production’s director. Veteran Jay Nelson will serve as the musical director while Kyle Green and Joe Zubrick pitch in with music and set duties, respectively.
“Seussical” will open Friday, Nov. 7, with a seven-show, two-weekend run. Ticket information will be released later this fall.
