Caribou and Titusville,FL.- Clarence J. Levesque, 87, died August 10, 2008, at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Center in Merritt Island, Florida, where he had been a resident since November 2005. He was born in St. Andre N.B. Canada, January 12, 1921 the son of the late Edward and Helen (St.Peter) Levesque. At the age of two he moved with his family to Caribou, and he married Erma Cyr in May 1942. Clarence was a World War II veteran. He received his American citizenship in North Africa at the beginning of his tour of duty. Clarence received the Bronze Star while serving in the North African campaign with the “Red Ball Express” providing support to General Patton in Sicily, Naples, France and Germany. He was a life member of the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. In 1985, after working at Base Supply at the former Loring Air Force for 35 years, Clarence retired from civil service. In the fall of 1987 he moved to Titusville.
He is survived by his son C. Patrick Levesque of Temple, Maryland, his four daughters Dianne Chipps of Cape Canaveral, Fl., Elaine Thurow and her husband Ardell of Cocoa, Fl., Clarice Audette and her husband Bertrand of Farmington and Edna Parenti and her husband Peter of Cocoa, Florida; nine grandchildren; Christian and Stephen Levesque, Bert, Danielle, Nicolle, and Monique Audette, Dakota Thurow, and Joseph and David Parenti; and one great-grandchild, James Levesque. Mr. Levesque was predeceased by two sisters Mamie Page and Delcia Albert and a son-in-law Roger Chipps.
Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery with Fr. Aaron Damboise officiating.
