Enid Linnea Anderson Olivenbaum, 95, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, at her home near Clermont. She was born in Stockholm, Maine, graduated from Caribou High School and worked in the Boston area for ten years before marrying Edward Olivenbaum in 1942 at First Baptist Church, Clermont.
Enid was a homemaker/farmer who grew potatoes in Maine and oranges in Florida, and loved sewing, making braided rugs, working in her yard and doing crossword puzzles. Her greatest love was music. She began playing the piano at the age of four and served as organist at First Baptist, Clermont, for forty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Paulina Anderson, sister Mabel, brothers Clarence, Melvin, Donald and Fernald, loving husband, Ed, and grandson, Eric. She is survived by sons, Jim, of Weslaco, Texas, and Carl (Andy), of Gainesville, Florida, daughter, Joyce O. (Richard) Wilson, of Adairsville, Georgia, two grandchildren, David and Laurie, of Austin, Texas, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews, and godson, David Wooten of Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral service were Saturday, August 23, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, with a brief graveside service that followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Cornell officiating. All were invited to join the family for lunch at the Christian Life Center at First Baptist, Clermont, following services.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorials may do so to the Stockholm Baptist Church, Stockholm, Maine, 04783, Cornerstone Hospice or Salvation Army.
