Against Easton last Friday, Janel Rockwell led Southern Aroostook with three goals, while Evangeline Goodall finished with a pair of goals and an assist. Brittany Charette chipped in with a goal and assist, while Liz Goodall and Jasmine Rockwell each tallied a goal.
In goal, Emily Cummings and Mallory Lawlor combined to stop 22-of-23 shots faced.
Last Wednesday, the Lady Warriors routed Central Aroostook, scoring seven second-half goals. L. Goodall led Southern Aroostook with three goals and Jillian Diaferio had a pair. Adding single tallies were Charette, E. Goodall, Lauren McGary, Rochelle Nadeau, Janel Rockwell and Olivia Raymond.
Netkeepers Cummings and Lawlor combined for seven saves on nine shots.
In boys’ action, the Warriors topped Easton 3-1 behind goals from Tyler Robinson, Dakota Sleeper and Mike Casey.
Sleeper and Robinson each added assists in the game, while goalkeeper Patrick Goodall set back 15-of-20 shots faced.
The Warriors and Central Aroostook Panthers ended in a double overtime 3-3 tie.
Manny Martinez scored twice, including one with 40 seconds left in regulation to tie the game. The teams battled through two overtime periods without a winner declared.
Dan Brewer added a single goal for the Panthers, while he and Ross Grass combined to stop 13-of-21 shots faced in net.
For Southern Aroostook, Robinson scored twice and Sleeper added a goal and assist. Casey chipped in with an assist in the game, as well. Goalie Dillion Boulier set aside 16-of-22 shots faced.
Katahdin’s Ethan Qualey scored twice as the Cougars overtook host Fort Fairfield, 2-0 last Wednesday.
The Cougars’ first goal came off a scramble in front of the goalmouth, as Marshall Davis’ shot rebounded to Qualey, who knocked it in for a 1-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Qualey scored on a breakaway for the winning margin. Katahdin goalie Jesse McNally had five stops.
The Katahdin Lady Cougars didn’t fare as well against Fort Fairfield, falling 5-3.
Brooke Livezey scored twice, while Katy Donovan scored a single tally. Goalie Jade Clippinger turned back nine-of-14 shots faced.
The Hodgdon Lady Hawks toppled Easton, 5-1.
The Lady Hawks trailed 1-0 at halftime, but regrouped to find their stride in the second half.
“We changed our game plan to be more aggressive on offense and [to get] better passing of the ball,” said coach Olin Quint.
With that strategy, the Lady Hawks outscored Easton 5-0.
Karianne Estabrook scored three times and added an assist, while Dayna Tidd and Kelsey Foster rounded out the scoring with a goal each. Cierra Willette, Coreen Jurson, Kim Levesque and Amanda Ryan all had assists for the winners. In goal, Emmaly Jurson stopped seven shots.
