The Northern Penobscot Pullers pullers will be in Clinton on Thursday, September 4 and again in Clinton on Saturday, September 6. Carl Watson of Smyrna gets first place pulling in Pro Stock Diesel in Windsor.
The convoy of pickup pullers was on the road twice last week. On Wednesday, August 27, the destination was Windsor for their fair. The grandstands were packed and the crowd was ready.
The standings in Windsor were: 2×4 Modified 6,200 A: first, Lee Wood of Oakfield in Half Pint; second, Charlie Greene of Exeter, RI in Mr. G II and third, Barry Dow of Houlton in the Intimidator.

On Saturday, August 30, the pulling crew headed for Springfield for the holiday weekend pulls. The audience was not disappointed, as the pullers put on an amazing show of horsepower and expertise as the drivers maneuvered the vehicles down the track.
This pull attracted some of the political crowd as Senator Roger Sherman visited the announcer’s booth and Senator Elizabeth Snyder also made a show and participated in the Women’s Open Pull.

The bright sunny skies shown on the NPPA in Dover-Foxcroft, as a large crowd gathered on the hillsides to watch and cheer on the pullers.
A special addition was added to this pull as the crowd sang a hearty happy birthday to John Woods, who has been pulling pickups for close to 30 years. He and his son, Lee, have built a two-wheel drive modified pickup that they compete with. Woods and his wife, Linda, and their family faithfully support the pulling club.
