To the Sunday protesters on the bridge

To the editor:
Some of you look to be Vietnam veterans. Don’t you remember what it was like when you were serving your country? Protesters in the States were saying awful things about you and you didn’t receive the honor you deserved upon your return until years later. Think for one moment about our people serving now.  They are fighting for our freedom and protecting us. Do you honestly think for a minute that Al-Qaida and other bully groups are going to stop what they do just because we pull out of Iraq and other countries?
Have you forgotten 9/11? Don’t be fooled, Al-Qaida haven’t given up. My family and I thank all of you veterans. We are so proud of you. Serving our country isn’t always easy, we are both vets, and though we may not always agree with the way things are run, we made a pledge and as people of honor, we are to keep that pledge.
May I also ask that you keep vulgarities off your signs if you still feel the need to be at the bridge this Sunday? I don’t want my daughter seeing that. Thank you.
