Houlton golfers 3-0
Last Friday at the Houlton Country Club, the Shiretowners improved to 3-0 defeating Presque Isle, 153-174.
    The Gervais brothers, Porter and Ian, tied for low medalist, scoring 36s.
Capping off Houlton’s scoring were: Dylan Flewelling, 41; Greg Foster, 40; Nick Chase, 48; Gaige Flewelling, 55; Nikki Eastman, 47 and Logan Shaffer, 42.

Hunter Safety class
SAD 29/70 Adult Education is offering a Hunter Safety Course in two sessions on Tuesday, October 21 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Houlton High School, Room 32 and Saturday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Houlton High Education Center. Attendance is mandatory at both sessions.
Instructor is Maurice Brewer, and the course meets the mandatory Maine licensing requirement for first-time hunters and is recommended for all Maine hunters. Cost is $3.

ATV course offered
An ATV Safety Course is being offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Hodgdon Fire Department.

AYBL coaches wanted
Aroostook Youth Basketball League (AYBL) will be starting soon and coaches are needed for the following divisions:  grades 3-4 girls, 3-4 boys, 5-6 girls, 5-6 boys, 7-8 girls, and 7-8 boys. The grade 3-4 season runs from December13 until March 28. The grade 5-6 season runs from October 4 until January 3.  The grade 7-8 season runs from January 31 until April11.  If you are interested in coaching a team, please contact Marty Bouchard at 538-6465.

Aerobics class offered by rec
The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department will be offered an aerobics class this fall. Classes will be held each Monday and Wednesday from 5-6 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building, starting on September 29.
Cost for the eight-week program will be $40 for Houlton residents and $60 for non-Houlton residents. The class is limited to 20 participants. To register, call the  rec at 532-1310 by September 29.
