Staff members at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Caribou recently announced that Robert Lane was selected as Resident of the Month for August.
Family and friends gathered at the facility to participate in honoring Lane along with staff and other residents. The honoree was presented a reminiscent book of some of his life along with a decoupage created by the veterans’ home activity coordinator, Rita Worley.
During the afternoon those in attendance enjoyed sharing cake, ice cream and beverages with their friend and family member.
Family members sharing the special event included: Lane’s son, Dick Lane; and his daughters, Diane Deschesne, Charlene Springer, Roberta Heath and Heidi Norse. Also present were granddaughter Billy Joe McDonough and great-granddaughters Brooklyn and Kylee Plummer. Son-in-law Bill Deschesne provided the Residential Care Unit with entertainment.
