Caribou golfers split matches

    The Caribou Vikings varsity golf team played a strong round at its home course Friday, besting Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln, 183-201.    Ellis Pelletier led Caribou, now 2-5 overall, and was the medalist in the match by posting a score of 43. Caleb Chapman had a 46, while Taylor Jepson and Nate Swan turned in rounds of 47.
    For the Lynx, Lance Bernier’s 46 led the way.
    Caribou to Class C power Houlton last Wednesday at Houlton Community Golf Course.
    The Vikes’ score on the afternoon was a 195, compared to 163 for Houlton.
    Only three Caribou golfers were able to break 50, as Jepson and Pat Thibodeau each carded 44s to lead the way. Matt Kamm shot a 48.
    The Shiretowners’ Porter Gervais was the medalist with a 37.
