The Dutch Soccer Academy is ready to accept registrations for its 2008-2009 indoor season.
The indoor program, under the direction of Robbie Krul, is designed to aid the existing local soccer teams by offering a supplemental soccer program during the winter months and provide an opportunity for kids to play soccer year round in Aroostook County. Indoor sessions begin in mid-October and continue through May in three trimesters. Registrants can sign up for any or all of the trimesters.
Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first-grade beginners will have sessions offered Thursdays at Hilltop School in Caribou. Kindergarteners and first-grade beginners will meet from 3-4 p.m., while pre-K students and kindergarten beginners will meet from 4-5 p.m. The dates for the first trimester are Oct. 16 and 23, Nov. 7, 13 and 20 and Dec. 4, 11 and 18.
First-graders and second-grade beginners will meet Fridays from 3-4 p.m. and second-grade advanced and third-grade beginners from 4-5 p.m., also at Hilltop. The dates are Oct. 17 and 24, Nov. 7, 14 and 21 and Dec. 5, 12 and 19.
New this year are Sunday classes at the Caribou Recreation and Wellness Center. Each trimester is six weeks in length, but the sessions are longer. Third-grade advanced and fourth-graders will meet from 1-2:20 p.m., grades 5-6 from 2:20-3:40 p.m. and grades 7-10 from 3:40-5 p.m. Dates are Oct. 19 and 26, Nov. 9, 16 and 30 and Dec. 7.
The tuition fee is $60 per trimester if registering by Oct. 1. After that date, a $10 late fee will be applied. A one-time registration fee of $25 will also be charged for each student registering.
For the Hilltop classes, the second trimester runs from early-January through early-March and the third trimester runs from mid-March through mid-May. For the Wellness Center classes, the second trimester runs from early-January through early-February and the third trimester from early March through early-April.
