From one sucker to another

To the editor:
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the way I see it, four hours after Congress’ passing GW Bush Inc’s “bailout”, we have:
• The Wall Street fat cats, who knew exactly what was coming, bottom-fed on Tuesday and Wednesday, running the price of stocks back up by about $1,000 after Monday’s record losses.
• Next, Congress larded the bill up and passed it today, Friday.
• The Dow Jones immediately dropped significantly, while the bottom feeders took their profits, just before …
• The Government suddenly realized that, although it took just two weeks for Main Street to get into “dire danger”, it’ll take at least three months to help Main Street recover.
• Lou Dobbs reported tonight that lobbyists gave heavily to Congress to vote for the bailout. He also reported that the lobbyists are promising to fight against all lawmakers who voted against the bill. But, of course, there’s no such thing as quid-pro-quo between lobbyists and politicians, is there!
So, the fat cats get their golden parachutes; we get the standard good old golden sprinkle; GW Bush gets to “starve the beast” further.
P.S. — Thank you, Mike Michaud for having the guts to vote against it.
