Third- and fourth-gradebasketball registration
Registrations are still being accepted for the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department’s grades 3-4 basketball program, but with a $5 late fee attached to the registration fee is $15. The program offers leagues for both boys and girls. Practices and games are held weekdays after school at the community center and begin the last week in October.
LeBlanc’s Family Karate
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will host LeBlanc’s Family Karate starting this Saturday. Classes are for ages 7 and older, and classes will be run from 9-11 a.m. every Saturday. The classes are designed for beginners and intermediate students. The cost is $30 per class and family rates are available. There is also a yearly fee of $25 per student.

Laser Tag
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting Laser Tag on Friday, Nov. 7 from 6-8 p.m. This is open to ages 10 and up, and all participants under the age 18 will have to have a legal guardian sign a permission form. The cost for the two hours is $10, and people can pay $5 for one hour of play.
Presque Isle Indoor Pool
The Presque Isle Indoor Pool is accepting pre-paid registration for the Nov. 12 to Jan. 17 session of swimming lessons. Please note that the pool will be closed from Oct. 27 to Nov. 12 for renovations.
Parent toddler and infant classes are Tuesday at 9 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. or Saturday at 9 a.m. Three year old non-swimming classes are Wednesday at 1 p.m., Thursday at 6 p.m. or Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Four to five year old classes are Monday at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday at 9 a.m., 4:30 p.m. or 6 p.m., Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Thursdays at 9 a.m. or 4:30 p.m., Friday at 9 or 9:30 a.m., and Saturday at 10 or 10:30 a.m. Swimming three to five year old classes, for those able to swim 10 yards without flippers or support, take place Monday at 7 p.m., Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. or Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Learn to swim one (must be 6 year old or older) classes are Thursday at 6 p.m. or Saturday at 10 or 11 a.m. Learn to swim levels 2-3 classes for those able to swim 15 yards without support are held on Wednesday at 2 or 6 p.m., and Saturday at 9 or 11 a.m. Level 3 and 4 classes are on Tuesday at 5 p.m. or Saturday at 10 a.m. Levels 4 to 6 classes are Monday at 6 p.m, Wednesday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m.
Endurance swim class for those who want to improve fitness and endurance will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Adult beginner classes are on Monday at 1 p.m. or Wednesday at 7 p.m. Adult stroke improvement classes are Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Water exercise classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. and on Monday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. Water jogging class will be held Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
Kayak practice sessions will be held on Thursday from 7-8:15 p.m.
Registrations will be accepted at the indoor pool through Oct. 26, and at the William Haskell Community Center after that date. For more information, call 764-2564.
