Hilary D.L. Flagg and Michael W. Cherry were married Oct. 4, 2008, at the Captain A.V. Nickels Inn in Searsport, with the Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. A reception followed, also at the Nickels Inn. The maid of honor was Emma P.B. Taylor of Portland, and the best man was Joshua R. Porter, of Albany, N.Y. Hilary is the daughter of Laura Flagg and Kenneth Taylor, of Fort Fairfield and Stockton Springs. She is the granddaughter of T. Alice Flagg, of Waterville. Michael is the son of Sharon McCormack and William Cherry, of Schoharie, N.Y.
The bride and groom are both 2005 graduates of Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y. Hilary received her master’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany in May of 2008. She is currently employed as a program manager at the Youthlinks Program in Rockland.
Michael taught at Brighter Choice Elementary School in Albany, N.Y., following his graduation from Elmira. He is currently the assistant director of the Teen Center in Camden.
The couple reside in Rockland.
